I recently went to Mud Lake and realized that people don’t view Mud Lake as the nature reserve it is (especially in the winter). I found hockey pucks, water bottles, food wrappers, and all sorts of garbage that can be hazardous to wildlife. People don’t seem to treat Mud Lake like an important nature reserve for reasons I am yet to understand (possibly because it’s in the middle of Westboro and doesn’t seem like a “real” nature reserve). Anyone who visits Mud Lake, please treat it as a genuine and important place of nature even during the winter when people see it as just a skating rink because the trash you leave there won’t go away when the ice melts and the wildlife will still suffer from it.
